Spring is a very busy season for passerines around here. Lots of them are busy finding mates and many have already been building nests. So far I've seen several Carrion Crow's nests, mostly during eggs incubation stage. Long-tailed Tits are mostly busy finding preys for their chicks, while male Oriental Bush Warblers and Siberian Meadow Buntings are still singing their sweet songs to attract females. Today, I found this pair of Bull-headed Shrike (Lanius bucephalus) busy flying in and out of a thick bush at Furui-chi. Seems like the nest is built inside that bush and both male and female birds looked very worn, especially the female. Pretty soon we'll be seeing new fledglings of this family, I hope.
