Redstart Season

And so I went to Beppu Park last Wednesday because I just couldn't stand the numeracy of the Daurian Redstarts anymore. I decided to go there early in the morning so I can get some shots with nice morning light and everything was quite as simple as I expected. I went there at the park, looked around for the redstarts, took their photos then went back home. So here are some results of my brief visit to the park, to complete my 'mission'. Quite a great time to pause the boredom of the gulls in front of my dorm.

Both male and female tend to be equally photogenic.

There were at least 2 males in a small area in the middle of the park and they were always chasing each other all the time, so I could locate them quite easily.

Or just by following their high-pitched calls.

Sometimes the bird just mistaken human being with tree branches.

Some spectacular portraits of these little beauties. Amazing especially for a short visist to the park.

Some seriously nice photos there. I haven't gotten a decent image of one in 2 winters of trying.........

Thanks for the comments!
Guess these redstarts are more common down south?
