Just a record shot of a
Kentish Plover (
Charadrius alexandrinus) at Sekino-e last week or two. Didn't know why it hasn't moulted into breeding plumage yet...maybe it's a female bird or a first-year adult. I haven't seen the species in Beppu before, so it's currently the latest species in my personal Beppu list.

i've only ever seen one Kentish Plover in Japan.......
Oh thought it'd be more common up there!
