Grebes at Oita River

Just went to Oita River yesterday as planned. The weather was just great, with the ultramarine sky and plenty of sunlight, another perfect day for birdwatching along the river. There were more Great Crested Grebes than usual and at least 2 of them were juvenile birds. Does that mean they also breed here in Kyushu? Lots of Little Grebes also, which is unusual, but they didn't let me get close enough to get a decent pic, so here I've only got photos of both juvenile and (sub)adult Great Crested Grebe.
This one almost looks like an adult, except for those small dark patches on its cheeks.

And here's a younger one

Sometimes you just need a bit of luck to get a picture of the grebe this close.

Time to go!

Thanks for the comments!
Fortunately it's only a river so sometimes they appear up from the water quite close to the bank.
